Lisbon International Airport Transportation
There are several means of transport available to get to the airport and out.
Trains connect all corners of the city, the spot of the departure is Gare do Oriente station. It will take approximately 10 minutes for passengers to get from the airport to that train station by the metro. Moreover, it is possible to get there by bus, however, that will take a bit longer.
Metro may become another way to get from one corner of the Lisbon to another. The Aeroporto Saldanha metro station is located at the Southern edge at the Terminal 1. However, passengers need to purchase a 7 Colinas/Viva Viagem card to use the metro and other means of public transport. The card costs 0.50 euros and is valid for the whole year.
Buses provided by the Lisbon transportation company ‘Carris' arrive at the airport arrivals section and carries its passengers to the center of the city. However, city buses have a limit for the size of the luggage, which is 50x40x20cm. If the passengers' luggage does not fit in those limits, then the better option will be to take the Aerobus or airport shuttle.
Aerobuses which are available both at the Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 provide the rides from the airport to any destination of the Lisbon downtown. Hours of operation are from 07:30 to 23:00, passengers may also find free Wi-Fi and USB chargers. For disabled or passengers with the reduced mobility, there is special access to aerobuses.
Shuttles are available for transportation between the terminals only.
Taxi is available at the entrance of both arrivals and departure terminals 24 hours a day, the rate of the trip is dependent on the distance to the point of the destination and the time of the day, the approximate time to get to the Lisbon downtown will take 15 minutes.
Car and bicycled means of transportation are also available, as there is a separate car park near the Terminal 1. Two bicycle paths have started its operation recently, connecting the airport and the city center.
